Comparably’s quarterly awards showcase the leaders and leadership teams who are driving positive culture change across companies of varying sizes. Based solely on employee sentiment, Flywire, a global fintech company specializing in delivering complex and high value payments, ranked in the top 50 for small to midsize companies in all six categories, alongside other leading companies.
Boston-based Flywire topped the charts in the Best Leadership Category, landing the No. 5 spot. As one Flywire employee shared: "The executive team is approachable, always willing to listen, and forthcoming with updates about the company's strategy, org changes, and more."
Flywire was ranked No. 15 for midsize companies offering the best compensation. A Flywire employee shared: "Compensation covers almost every need you can have, and if it doesn't, the leadership team takes it into account for ways to improve."
For its awards, Comparably collects workplace ratings from employees at companies belonging to different industries and creates multiple rankings a year based on these anonymous ratings. Criteria for each category include:
- The annual ranking of the top-rated CEOs for diversity uses anonymous ratings from non-white employees over a 12-month period. Ratings were collected from June 23, 2020 to June 23, 2021.
-The Best Leadership team ranking, Comparably used anonymous ratings from employees about a company's leadership. This includes rating and answering questions about CEOs, executives, and managers. Data collection was over a 12-month period starting at the end of June 2020.
- For the best career growth ranking, Comparably asked employees questions to learn about professional development opportunities at a company, including if employees have a workplace mentor and if there are advancement opportunities. It used anonymous employee ratings from the end of June 2020 to the end of June 2021 to find the best of the best companies.
- For the happiest employees, Comparably asked employees questions to learn about their happiness at work, from fair pay, benefits and clear goals to excitement for the company and the work itself.
-The Best Company Compensation and Perks and Benefits rankings, Comparably asked questions about the benefits, perks, salary, raises, bonuses, and stock or equity. Anonymous employee ratings were collected September 2020 to mid-September 2021.
